21st Century Driver Training
Training is the basis for all activities - In order to excel one must have instruction and critique on proper
handling and judgment of their driving. The simulator training provides accurate critique of the student.
Most companies today have some type of indock training to help the new employee to become a valued and productive
employee. Companies spend considerable time and money so the employees are all focused on the goals. Parents are sometimes
reluctant to spend money on driver training because of the cost. You probably have spent upwards of $75,000 on each
child to age 15 and maybe more. The first 2 years of driving are the most dangerous. Auto accidents
are the leading cause of death for 15-21 year olds. So you think your "SAVING MONEY" with a low
price. Experience Driving offers a driving simulator which will provide situations that would be unsafe on
the Road. Our "Defensive Driver" program on the simulator gives excellent training for any driver but is most
important for a beginning driver.
Licensing Changes
Driver
training has changed very little in the last 30 plus years. The programs consisted of possibly some classes and a few hours
of behind the wheel experience. The accident statistics for young adults hasn’t improved much. The lawmakers in all
states have now gone to some type of graduated license for teen drivers. This has reduced the number of fatalities because
fewer people are allowed in an auto driven by a new driver. The number of accidents still is proportionately high for the
under 21 group.
Simulator Advantages
Experience
Driving School owner, Steve Pouliot, (a retired Airline Pilot and flight instructor) believes that training in a Driving Simulator
increases the students comprehension, decision making, perceptions, thoroughness and consistency of training which isn’t
available in behind the wheel training alone. The Driving Simulator monitors 60+ items at 30 times a second while in the driving
mode. It gives immediate feedback of improper actions and deducts points for violations starting at 100 points. The student
must pass with a 70 % grade to move to the next lesson. This training provides the student with valuable, safe, document able,
non biased training prior to any in vehicle training. The Simulator is "Boot Camp" and the computer is the
"Drill Instructor". Everyone recieves the exact same training in the simulator. In order to be a good
driver a student must repeat proper "Habits" that become ingrained. This can only be done in a consistent
repitious manner such as the Simulator.
At Experience Driving School, our program has three phases,
26 hours of classroom, 4 hours of simulator, and 6 hours of behind the wheel driving. We are the ONLY driving school in this
area to offer simulator training.
Costs, Upfront and Hidden
Driving is about 15% motor skills and 85% brain activity. The use of simulators in training people to operate machinery
has been around for 30 + years and we believe that it’s about time that driver training moves into the 21st
century by using them.
Experience Driving School isn’t the lowest cost driving school because
we charge for the 4 hours of simulator training. That adds about $50 to the cost of training. With 6 hours of behind
the wheel experience, that gives the student a total of 10 hours of training. I could have named the company similar to other
Driving Schools suggesting howcheap they offer training. After all this is your Son or Daughter and you want them
to achieve the best and comprehensive training which may give them a better chance at survival. I believe that the
simulator training will make a better trained driver which will reduce the likelihood of tickets and/or violations which in
turn directly affects your auto insurance rates. That is surely worth the additional cost upfront. Remember that if your teen
is in an at fault accident YOU will have to accompany them to court and pay lawyer, court, and fines. Their license probably
will be suspended for 1 year. Plus you will pay your collision deductible.
There is no such thing as an “over trained” driver.
You ‘practice’ driving
for the rest of your life.
